Monday, September 5

43rd Annual Bangor Labor Day 5 Mile Road Race, Race #9 in the TradeWinds Marketplace/Sub 5 Track Club Road Race Series.  Race starts at 9:00 AM at the Bangor Parks and Recreation Center.  Race day registration from 7:45-8:45 AM.  Entry fee is $10, first 100 registrants receive race t-shirt.  Call Bangor Parks and Recreation at 992-4490 or Skip Howard at 223-4715.   Print Entry Form

Sunday, September 11

Run for Hope 5K Run and Walk, at Best Western White House in Hermon (Exit 180 on I-95 - behind Dysart's Restaurant).  Race starts at 11:30 AM with registration from 9:30-11:00 AM.  Entry fee $12 ($15 day of event).  Call 862-8008.

Eastport Salmon Festival 5K Road Race, Registration is 7:30am to 9:00am. Kids 1 Mile fun run starts @ 8:15am.  5K road race starts @ 9:15am.  Runners will meet and register on Sea Street, down behind the Motel East and will be bused to the starting line.  Directions: Follow Route 190 in Eastport, at the Bangor Savings Bank take a right and follow through to the second intersection.  Take that left and go down to the library, take a right turn and the Motel East is on your immediate left.  Park on the side and walk down behind the Motel and your there.  For more information contact Race director Stephanie Allard @ 207-853-0658.

Eliot Festival Day 5K Road Race, Eliot Fire Station, Route 103, Eliot, Maine.  8:30 A.M. Sunday, September 25

Edgar Paradis Fall Foliage Classic, runs begin at 8:00 AM in Frenchville/St. Agatha Maine (St. John Valley in Aroostook county).  Events include 1/2 marathon, 5-miler, and kid's 1-mile fun run.  If interested call JJ or Michelle Roy at 543-6391 (leave a message if no one picks up).  Race fee is $25 day of race or $20 pre-reg.  Courses include beauty of foliage season during harvest season.  Lake side running and country road running.  Should be a great time.  This event complements the Aug. 21 Tour de La Vallee which is a biking tour of the SJ Valley.  Participants timed for both events have a chance and earning "ultimate challenge" honors.  Call for specifics.

Common Ground Fair 5K, Unity Fairgrounds at 8:00 AM.  Start/Finish located at the Crosby Brook/Rose parking lot.  Registration fee $10.  Contact Skip Howard at 223-4715.

Friday, September 30

12th Annual Rise 'N Shine 5K Road Race, at Harry Lanphear Kennebec Valley YMCA (622-9622).  Registration fee: $15.00 in advance; $20.00 on race day. ENTRY FORMS:  Will be available at any branch of Kennebec Savings Bank or the Kennebec Valley YMCA after August 1st.  T-SHIRTS: To all pre-registrants (before September 20th).  START: Kennebec Savings Bank, 150 State Street, Augusta at 6:35 AM (sunrise!).  ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: All registration fees benefit the Kennebec Valley YMCA.  Refreshments are available at the Bank and showers are available at the YMCA following the race.
