46th Annual Bangor Labor Day 5 Miler in Bangor, ME.  Registration from 7:45-8:45 AM.  Race starts at 9:00 AM.  Race #8 in the Tradewinds Market Place / Sub 5 Track Club Road Race Series.  Race Application

Sunday, September 14

2nd Annual Gary S. Crocker Memorial 5K Run & Walk, in Dixmont, ME.   The Dixmont Scholarship Association will hold the 2nd Annual Gary S.Crocker Memorial 5K Run & Walk on Sunday, September 14th, which will benefit the Association's scholarship fund.  The race is held in honor of Gary S. Crocker, a community member and strong supporter of local agriculture and farming, who passed away last July. Registration begins at 8:00 am, and race time is 9:00 am sharp on the Cottrell Road in Dixmont. The 5K event will issue prizes to the top 3 places in the men's and women's divisions. The cost to participate is $10 for adults, $5 for youths, and each registrant will receive a commemorative t-shirt.

The Association and race committee are also looking for sponsors for the race t-shirts. Gold ($100), Silver ($50) and Bronze ($20) categories are available and sponsor's will have their businesses featured on the backs of the shirts.  The Dixmont Scholarship Association awards scholarships annually to Dixmont high school seniors.

Directions - enter Cottrell Road from Rte 143 (Simpson Corner Rd), about 1.5 miles north of the intersection of Rtes. 9 and 143. Follow Cottrell Rd. down to the bend, where the registration table and start of the race will be located. Common Ground Country Fair 5K Footrace, in Unity, ME.  Race starts at 8:00 am.

Friday, September 26

15th Annual Rise 'N Shine 5K Road Race.  Augusta, ME.  Registration Information: Fee: $15.00 in advance, $20.00 on race day.  Entry Forms: Available at any branch of Kennebec Savings Bank or the Kennebec Valley YMCA after September 1st.  T-shirts: to all pre-registrants (before September 14th).  Start: Kennebec Savings Bank, 150 State Street, Augusta at 6:31 AM (sunrise).  All registration fees benefit the Kennebec Valley YMCA.  Refreshments are available at the Bank and showers are available at the YMCA following the race.

Hope Lutheran Church's Second Annual Fall Race for Research, Registration 9AM, Start 10AM at the Paul Bunyan Park in Bangor, ME.  The race benefits Multiple Myeloma Research.  Multiple Myeloma is a blood cancer that effects the plasma cell.  More information on the cancer can be found at www.multiplemyeloma.org.  Individual fee $25. Child, 10 and older $25.  Children under 10 are free.  Family of 4 maximum registration fee of $60.  Pledge forms and registration forms can be received by contacting Becky at 356-0425.  Enjoy the Bangor waterfront and a beautiful autumn day with family and friends.  Walk, run, stroll, or race towards the finish line and fund the efforts to find a cure for multiple myeloma!

Apple Pumpkin Adventure Race, at Spruce Mountain in Livermore Falls, ME.  It is a run/kyak/mountain bike. The run is mostly off road 5.5 miles, a 1.5 mile river kyak and a 3 mile mountain bike. Race starts at 8:30 AM.  Contact
