Ralph Thomas 8K Run/Walk, Indian Island, Old Town, ME.  In an effort to promote a healthy lifestyle with our youth and to assist tribal members who have unexpected financial needs due to health issues, we have organized the Ralph K. Thomas 8K Run/Walk.  Mr. Thomas, a Penobscot Tribal member, was inducted into the Maine Running Hall of Fame in 1989.  He won many road races during his running career and was one of the most admired and loved long distance runners of his day.  It is our desire to honor him and to give our youth another positive role model from within the Penobscot Tribe.  Race Application.   You can read more about Ralph Thomas at the Maine Running Hall of Fame website: http://www.runmaine.org/athleteindex/new/1989/ralphthomas.htm.
